Welcome to the setup guide.
This guide is designed to meet accessibility needs, enabling successful basic setup without visual assistance. It will introduce the appearance of your switch, including its ports, buttons and labels, and then guide you through connecting the hardware and setting up the network.
Step 1. Learn about your switch
In this section, we will describe the switch's appearance, including its ports, buttons, and labels. You can refer back to this part during the setup process in steps 2 and 3.
1. You can find your switch, and power adapter in the package.
Power Adapter: The power adapter is usually a rectangular or square block with a cord on one end that plugs into the power port of your switch to power it on.
2. Next, place your switch on a horizontal surface, such as on a shelf or desktop.
To confirm that it’s upright, feel for the product label, which is relatively smooth and slightly raised from the surface, and ensure it’s on the bottom side.
3. After positioning your switch correctly, we will introduce the ports, buttons and labels on your switch in order.
Power Port: This is circular in shape on the back panel of the switch. It is used to connect the switch to the power source to power on the switch.
LED Display: On the front panel of the switch, there is a display composed of multiple LEDs that show various patterns, indicating different operational states.
Reset Button: A small, recessed button that requires a pin to press. Press and hold the button for more than 5 seconds. After a reset, wait about 2 minutes for it to restart.
PoE Ports (1-4): From left to right, port 1 to port 4 are PoE ports used to connect to PD devices (e.g., IP camera and access point) for data transmission and power supply. The PoE ports can also connect to non-PoE devices, but only transmit data.
Ports (5-8): From left to right, port 5 to port 8. For connecting your PC or other wired devices to the switch
Product Label: The product label is in the middle of the bottom panel. The surface of the product label is relatively smooth. The default Power specification, MAC address of your switch are provided on the label.
